Allied Health Assistance
An allied health assistant (AHA) works under the direction of an allied health professional (AHP), and this is usually on goal-based therapy for clients. The CPH&P AHA is fully qualified and, as such, is able to work without direct supervision.
The CPH&P AHA may see clients of the early parenting consultant, counsellor, clinical nutritionist, psychologist, occupational therapist, art therapist, play therapist and equine therapist.
Tasks an AHA may perform include:
More affordable, and therefore perhaps more frequent client sessions in between regular AHP appointments, addressing goals and programs highlighted by the treating allied health professional.
Work on administrative tasks – phone calls, session summaries, letters and reports, the creation of resources, or emails, that are required by the client or the treating AHP.
Delivery of individual or group programs deemed appropriate by the AHP, utilising material prepared by the AHP.
The CPH&P Allied Health Assistant works with clients either, at The Centre, in-office or outside in the grounds, or offsite – in home, school, etc.
